Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Entry-Level Civil or Environmental Engineer for employment in the Honolulu, Hawaii office to support a variety of environmental projects including environmental site investigations, remedial designs, remedial construction, permitting, and reporting.
Under the responsible charge of a Professional Engineer, Project Manager, or senior-level team member, the successful candidate will:

  • Perform assignments requiring application of standard techniques, procedures and criteria to carry out engineering tasks

  • Develop judgment and understanding of professional and ethical responsibilities through assigned tasks

  • Exercise judgment limited to developing details of work in making preliminary selections and adaptations of engineering alternatives

  • Prepare engineering related calculations, design drawings, specifications, and visual aids

  • Assist with field work (e.g., groundwater and soil sampling, well installation, and contractor oversight)

  • Collect and enter data, and apply technical principles and theories

  • Interpret and record data, conduct analyses, compare findings to relevant studies and local, state and federal regulations to ensure compliance, and draft reports based on observed conclusions and professional judgment

  • Task manage portions of larger projects and mentor junior level staff or interns

Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering

  • 0-2 years’ experience in environmental consulting or related field

  • Demonstrated technical writing abilities

  • Capable of using spreadsheet, word processing and standard office software

  • Basic knowledge of industry standard computer software for the position (examples include software such as CADD, HCS, AutoCAD, MicroStation, Arc-GIS, Hydrologic/Hydraulic models or other drainage and water modeling software)

  • required to intermittently drive company or rental vehicles for work



Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering

  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or Fundamentals of Engineering (FE)

  • Arc-GIS and/or CAD skills

  • Remedial investigation, remediation planning, or design experience
