Job Description

Serves as a trusted advisor to the division senior management by providing assistance and support with business planning and analysis, budget/forecast development and variance tracking and analysis activities. Works with division senior management to ensure that the FP&A business plan is aligned with the Company's strategic plan and the financial impact of strategic initiatives are aligned with business plan objectives.
  • Understands and assesses functions and needs of assigned business unit(s)
  • Assists in business plan development and forecasting process, including developing assumptions/scenarios for business planning, assisting line of business management with initiative development in support of corporate financial goals
  • Designs and develops reports for use by multiple levels of management for variance analysis and forecasting efforts
  • Assists division senior management with monthly tracking, analysis and reporting of actual results against plan results
  • Proactively develops ideas and suggestions for business process improvements
  • Assists with the development, enhancement and implementation of the bank's planning and analysis framework, including the use of efficient and effective automated planning tools
  • Assists with performing department's monthly processes and directs the work of financial analysts on the team
  • Independently designs and develops tools and reports to perform various requested financial analyses

Qualifications

Minimum Education Requirements:
  • College (4-year) degree in Accounting or Finance
Minimum Experience Required:
  • 3 years experience in financial reporting and preparation of financial reports. Experience in banking or financial services industry is preferred.
Required Skills or Training:
  • Experience with enterprise-wide planning and budgeting systems to include, but is not limited to, development of calculations, and design, development and testing of financial models preferred
  • Working knowledge of the principles of accounting for financial institutions, preferred
  • Self-motivated with excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Thorough understanding of generally accepted accounting principles
  • Working knowledge of banking operations
  • Self-motivated with excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Proficient PC skills utilizing Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • CPA is preferred
