Performs responsible professional planning work in the development, analysis and completion of planning projects; and performs other related duties as required.

Current vacancy:  Performs responsible and professional work in planning, organizing, and overseeing the construction activities related to housing development projects in varying states of development, while ensuring for an on-time and on-budget end result.

Positions require regular onsite inspections of construction sites which may require use of personal protection equipment such as hard hat, safety glasses, and safety vest.  There are three(3) vacancies with the Department of Land Management, Asset Development Division.  This list may be used for future vacancies in these positions.

 Minimum Qualification Requirements:
EDUCATION REQUIREMENT:
Equivalent to graduation from an accredited four year college or university with a bachelor's degree in architecture, engineering, public or business administration or a related field.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:
Four years of professional work experience in coordinating and managing land/real property development projects which must have included feasibility analysis, coordination of budgeting and cost studies, and either the administration of engineering, architectural, and other contractual agreements or work experience with real property acquisition.

QUALITY OF EXPERIENCE:
Having the required number of years of experience will not in itself be accepted as qualifying for the position.  Your overall experience must have been of such scope, level, and responsibility as to conclusively demonstrate the ability to perform the duties of the position.

The City and County of Honolulu owns hundreds of acres of land in all parts of the island.  The Department of Land Management is a relatively new City agency created to provide greater coordination, more expertise, and dedicated resources to manage land and negotiate land deals.  The Asset Development Division is functionally responsible for developing and coordinating use of City real property assets to maximum potential and/or policy implementation; overseeing and executing all real property acquisitions for the City; developing affordable housing on City-owned TOD (Transit Oriented Development) properties; and administering the City's Clean Water and Natural Lands Program.

License Requirement: A valid driver's license is required prior to appointment.
