- Duties Summary
Responsible for the overall guides and standards governing the acquisition, operation, operational maintenance, repair and replacement of motorized passenger vehicles and construction equipment used in a statewide program of highway construction and maintenance.
Duties and responsibilities include the preparation of manuals, directives, rental and replacement schedules and equipment specifications; the establishment of recordkeeping systems and analysis of records; and the review of district operations and budget requests with regard to vehicles and motorized construction equipment for adherence to guides and standards. In addition, this position is responsible for conducting industrial safety inspection and training activities including the coordination of available services, within the framework of an established departmental safety program; and performing other related duties as assigned.
- Minimum Qualification Requirements
To qualify, applicants must meet all of the following requirements:
Supervisory Experience: Three (3) years of progressively responsible supervisory work experience in the area of repair and maintenance of motorized passenger vehicles and/or construction equipment, or any equivalent combination of training and experience.
Qualifying work experience must have included the following activities:
- Overall planning of the operation.
- Formulation and implementation of operational procedures and policies.
- Conducting feasibility and operational cost studies.
- Assigning and directing the work of subordinates.
- Training and developing new employees.
