Level IV:  $4,413 to $5,373 per month (SR-22 Step C to H)

Duties Summary

Wildlife Biologist III: Independently performs a limited range of professional wildlife research, development or management assignments; plans census and surveys of game species; collects, compiles and analyzes hunter use and kill data; independently conducts smaller wildlife research, development and management projects; may direct the work of lower-level professional and non-professional wildlife workers; and performs other related duties as assigned.

Wildlife Biologist IV: Independently perform the full range of wildlife research, development and management activities; direct the work of lower-level professional and non-professional wildlife workers; and perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualification Requirements

To qualify, you must meet all of the following requirements:

Education: A bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university in wildlife management or in a related biological science with a minimum of twenty-four (24) semester credit hours in the following areas:

A. At least eighteen (18) semester credit hours of course work applicable to wildlife biology in such subjects as mammalogy, ornithology, animal ecology, wildlife management, animal husbandry, zoology, invertebrate zoology, vertebrate zoology, comparative anatomy, physiology (animal), genetics, animal taxonomy, parasitology, entomology, herpetology, biometry; or research courses in the field of wildlife biology; and
B. At least six (6) semester credit hours in botany or the related plant sciences.

Specialized Experience: One (1) year at the III Level and Two (2) years at the IV Level of progressively responsible professional experience in wildlife conservation, development and management, and/or wildlife research.

LICENSE: Applicants must possess a valid driver's license to drive in the State of Hawaii. 

LIFTING AND CARRYING: This position requires the ability to lift and carry objects of various weights unassisted and/or assisted by another person and/or use of equipment (e.g., hoisting equipment, hand truck), with or without reasonable accommodation.
