Description

Position Overview

This position is responsible for supporting the initiatives pertaining to process and technology in Airport Operations which include documenting and improving business processes, testing and scripting of test cases and operational support of Airport Operation systems. The Initiatives Specialist, Airport Operations reports to the Sr. Director, Airport Operations Initiatives

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the business use and user-access controls of Airport Operations IT systems, including Amadeus Flight Management, Brock Bag Tracking and Workforce Management (RosterAps / Inform RealTime)
  • Identify business process design and requirements, and communicate with IT and outsourced vendors
  • First level of end-user system support; once issue is identified, work with IT to resolve the issue
  • Manage system upgrades and implementations
  • Facilitate and perform system end-user testing and acceptance
  • Works closely with departments to develop scripts, testing schedules and testing processes
  • Interfaces with vendors on behalf of Hawaiian Airlines
  • Identify and recommend process improvements, and facilitate changes
  • Prepares reports and associated communication for Airport Operations Leadership team team and present updates on a periodic basis
  • Works with business process owners and subject matter experts (SMEs) to map functional processes in each of the departments assigned
  • Participates on cross functional teams to execute plans and initiatives; coordinates work with various governing bodies and key stakeholders
  • Other duties as assigned


Requirements

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • 2 years’ experience working primarily as a business analyst or in a related role
  • Must have strong written and verbal communication skills, including process documentation (i.e., flowcharts). Must also possess strong interpersonal communication skills
  • Proficient in MS Office and MS Visio
  • Experience in functional systems analysis, including analyzing and documenting business needs and an expert understanding of how applications support the business
  • Systems implementation and data conversion experience
  • Strong problem-solving & critical-thinking skills, with ability to think outside the box and propose unique and creative solutions that challenge the status-quo in a thoughtful and respectful way
  • Detail-oriented self‐starter with strong written and interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Airline experience (2 years)
  • Excellent analytical and quantitative skills
