Job Overview: Responsible for ensuring courteous, friendly and efficient food and beverage service to banquet clients consistent with the standards of Hilton Hotels and Resorts. Services and trains banquet staff and is responsible for service provided to an assigned area. Responsible for the overall operation of the Banquet Department in the absence of the Banquet Manager. 

Work Hours:  Employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel.  Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established or changed by the Hotel from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position. Employees with irregular attendance will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment. 

Language Skills:  Must be able to use English both verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers. 

Computer Skills/Experience:  Excellent computer proficiency (MS Office – Word, Excel, MICROS, DELPHI and Outlook). 

Essential Skills:  Must have mathematical ability and able to use 10-key adding machine and computer.   Able to use a mobile credit card processor.  Must be able to accurately handle cash.  Must be able to read English in order to know how a room is to be set-up, know the flow of the service and the expectations of the client, and how to direct the Team to perform their responsibilities to provide guest satisfaction.  Must be able to work well under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service.  Ability to work independently and to perform duties & responsibilities to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Ensures efficient operation of banquet functions by coordinating and providing work direction for banquet personnel
 Holds pre-function briefing to communicate specifications of each function  Ensures quality service by assigning and directing team members to work stations  Ensures that servers take care of every customer and are alert at all times to see that customers are given every attention  Provides work direction to servers; verifies that servers are at work as scheduled  Handles customer concerns and complaints promptly and tactfully  
Works closely with kitchen to coordinate cooking, food presentation and delivery times for each function  Completes dish and food requisitions as necessary  Ensures that Team Members follow proper DOH sanitation practices  Supervises the handling, storage and security of all kitchen and banquet equipment used in function  Reports all maintenance problems to appropriate personnel  Inspects rooms and public areas for cleanliness 
Provides Team Members with the information needed to perform their job effectively  Orients team members to the department and hotel and provides on-the-job training on job responsibilities  Prioritizes and assigns work  Provides feedback to the team member and department manager on the team member’s performance of job responsibilities 
Creates 100% guest satisfaction by providing “Can Do” attitude and by exceeding guest expectations  Communicates and demonstrates “Can Do” attitude to other team members  Gives personal attention, takes personal responsibility and uses teamwork when providing guest service  Listens, apologizes with empathy, finds a solution and follows through when resolving guest problems  Assumes the responsibility to notice when the guest is not satisfied and uses their best judgment as to when it is appropriate  Performs other duties as required 

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:  Minimum (2) years’ experience as a Banquet wait help in a hotel or convention setting required   High School Diploma or GED required.  Relevant military experience in a comparable capacity 

LICENSES/CERTIFICATION:  TB Clearance required  Liquor card required  CPR and Standard First Aid Certification preferred 

Physical Requirements:  Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.  Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state and local standards.  Must be able to lift and carry up to 35lbs through a crowded room on a continuous basis throughout shift  10%  Performs other duties as ability to squat and transport trays weighing 35lbs  10%  Repetitive reaching, bending, kneeling, squatting, stooping, sitting, throughout entire shift  20%  Carrying or rolling tables up to 30 lbs  5%  Stacking chairs  5%  Pushing a cart 5%
