Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on issues related to the recruitment and selection process. Plan, develop, implement, and improve recruitment and staffing strategies to provide a well-qualified and diverse pool of candidates in a timely and cost effective manner. Coordinate and manage the immigration process for the entire organization.
- Bachelor's Degree and two (2) years of related work experience; or equivalent combination of education and related work experience (e.g., Human Resources, Immigration, or Organizational Design and Effectiveness).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong planning, organization, and time management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to preserve sensitive and confidential employee information.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications: Word -- intermediate level, Excel -- intermediate level, Outlook -- Basic level
Duties and Responsibilities
Coordinate and manage the immigration process with employees, management and legal counsel (this includes, but is not limited to temporary work authorization, visas, permanent work authorization, and client verification letters).
Provide guidance to applicants, employees, and management, regarding interpretation of foundational immigration laws, guidelines, regulations and processes (e.g. processing freezes, petition fee changes, etc.) in order to ensure regulatory compliance. Advise managers of any requirements and implications of specific decisions during the immigration process.
Monitor and track department immigration budget, contract, invoices, and all related immigration counsel costs to ensure budgetary parameters are maintained.
Review and evaluate the effectiveness of the immigration process and practice and provide recommendations for improvements to ensure alignment with the organizations objectives. Assist management with cost-benefit analysis to determine if participation continues to be the best staffing arrangement for all parties.
Reporting and Analysis:
Develop and analyze statistical data and other reports concerning all aspects of the employment function in order to identify, track, and determine causes of personnel problems and to present recommendations to improve employment policies, processes, and practices.
Compile ad hoc and standard reports for AAP and/or other related HR functions. Completes metrics, reporting and analytics.
Special Projects/Other Duties:
Lead, coordinate, and/or participate in special projects (e.g., summer hires, HMSA job fairs, temporary agency renewals, etc.). Serve on HR project teams as an E/O representative.
